MEDICAL DOCTOR - NURSE - MIDWIFE - EYE SPECIALIST - DENTIST
Together with Medicien Chef of Douentza, we are looking for doctors, nurse, midewife, eye specialist, dentist who volunteer to collaborate with local doctors within the medical infrastructure available in the Douentza and the surrounding villages.
The training period for a doctor here in Mali, finishes with school. There are no seminars, conferences or any other form of additional training.
There is no sophisticated device available. They learn while practising.
We need to bring more expertise in Douentza, we need to train local doctors and improve the level of knowledge. But we also have to remember that there are different rules here and the relationship with patients is slightly different from what you might be used to.
Eventually, you will visit patients together with the local doctor, but what it’s more important is that you stay with them, you live with them and you consult with them how to improve the health condition of people living very far from hospitals.
Please be aware that people would rather speak French then English.

We could provide you with information about unexplored beautiful places, we will guide you through the marvellous Dogon Valley.
We can arrange a guide or a car for you. We will tell you about the social life, cultural habit, and you can live with locals if you whish.
Any contribution during your visit will be donated to the association to support one of the on-going project.
If you whish to bring us school supplies, books, clothes, or medicaments, or any kind of goods you could think of, please contact us in advance.
We would suggest to prioritize certain kind of material and avoid some other.
