FEED KIDS LIVING ON THE STREETS
Kids living on the streets have to beg for food and do not receive any medical care.
They are between 3 and 10 years old. They are abounded and live in extreme poor conditions.
We aim to improve their health, offer them a place where they can feel secure, and establish a trustworthy relationship.
We are confident that in the long term, we will be able to invite them to join a learning program, teach them a job and give them the opportunity to become part of their community again.
Thanks to the donations received so far, we have established the infrastructure to start, we offer a job to 4 local women and 1 local man. All from Douentza. We have arranged a clean court with controlled hygienic conditions where 80 kids receive one meal per day.
One lady is involved in negotiating and organizing the purchase of the food at the market, 3 women are cooking and distributing the meal. The man instead receives the kids at the entrance and makes sure that they come every day. If not he talks to the kids and try to understand the reason for the absence.
The lady seats in the middle of the court, welcome the kids, make them wash their hands and assure they get a seat and a meal. At the end of the lunch, kids have to return their plates and they stay a bit longer to socialize with the others in a very peaceful environment.
Currently 80 kids are coming every day to receive their daily portion of food and they will be starving again in a year if we don’t guarantee a continuous support.
There are more kids waiting outside and we want to be able to enlarge the number of meals we can provide, that's why we are waiting for your contribution too!
Cost of the project:
- Food supply for one year, for 80 kids: 17.800€
